Erin Tyson - Assistant Principal

I’m so grateful to be part of the Cougar family and to serve as Assistant Principal here at Northeast Elementary—it truly feels like home. I graduated from Barton College with a degree in Elementary Education, and later joined the Pirate Leadership Academy at East Carolina University, where I earned my Master’s in School Administration. Before moving into administration, I spent 15 wonderful years teaching fourth and fifth grade, followed by two years as an Instructional Coach at John Small Elementary in Washington. Those years in the classroom shaped who I am as an educator and continue to guide my work every day.

I’m married to a fellow Beaufort County educator, and together we’re raising two busy, energetic boys. When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me on the sidelines cheering them on, relaxing at the beach or on the water, or spending time with the people I love most.

I’m looking forward to another amazing year at Northeast Elementary. I believe deeply in our students, our staff, and the caring community we have here. With teamwork, heart, and high expectations, I know we can help every child dream big and achieve even more. Go Altruismo!
